Start at Fulham Broadway station. Exit onto Fulham Road (A308) and head southwest toward Parsons Green. You’ll pass rows of Victorian terraces and a mix of independent shops and cafés; Parsons Green itself is a small, leafy square with plane trees and a weekend market vibe.
Continue along New Kings Road, crossing the green at Parsons Green. The street is lined with boutiques and pubs; notice the shift from boutique retail to more residential façades as you move west. After about a mile, you’ll come to the junction with Lillie Road—keep going straight; you’ll soon approach the Lillie Bridge area where older industrial buildings sit alongside modern flats.
Carry on as New Kings Road becomes Wandsworth Bridge Road. On your left you’ll see Wandsworth Park, a riverside green with lawns and flowerbeds, offering glimpses of the Thames and riverside walkers. Cross Wandsworth Bridge if you want a riverside detour—otherwise stay on the east side of Wandsworth Bridge Road heading south.
You’ll pass the brick front of the Young V&A/Old Town Hall style buildings near the junction with Northcote Road. Shortly after, turn right onto East Hill (A307) and follow it down toward the center of Wandsworth. East Hill opens up into a busier high street atmosphere—cafés, bakeries, and Bakeries give way to larger shops. On your left, notice the mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture interspersed with 20th-century municipal buildings.
When East Hill meets Wandsworth High Street, you’re there. The High Street runs along the edge of the riverside and features a cluster of shops, pubs, and supermarkets. Nearby, King George’s Park and the riverside promenades provide green spaces and views across the Thames toward Putney. The area has a lived-in, local feel—markets, corner shops, and the occasional canal-front pub rounding out the walk.
